We’re delighted that Brendan Power, acknowledged as one of the world’s leading harmonica players, joined the line-up for the Costa del Folk in Portugal in October 2017

He’ll be re-creating for the festival the hugely successful musical partnership he enjoyed with virtuoso guitarist and melodeon player Tim Edey, who is already booked for the event.

In 2012 Tim and Brendan were named “Best Duo” in the BBC Folk Awards, while Tim the “Musician of the Year” award in the same competition.

UK-based New Zealander, Brendan, is acknowledged as one of the most creative, skilled and versatile harmonica players around today. He was also voted International Harmonica Player of the Year 2011/12.

Since moving to Britain in 1992, his eclectic skills and sympathetic ear have made him the in-demand player, live and on record, with Kate Bush, Sting, Van Morrison, James Galway, Paul Young, Shirley Bassey and John Williams

In addition to his Pop, Jazz and Blues skills, Brendan is also an expert player of Irish Traditional music and a former winner of the All Ireland Title. He performed for three year in the Riverdance Show and has recorded with Donal Lunny, Altan, Paul Brady and Mary Black
