Poppleton Festival May 2015 will be bigger and better this year, as they have added several nights of entertainment including drama, comedy and classical music to the tried and tested one day festival.

This year’s festival now includes :

Badapple Theatre – The Unlikely Dads
The excellent Badapple Theatre will be performing their new comedy drama, The Unlikely Dads.

Barron Knights
You’ll be treated to old favourites like Call Up The Groups, their inimitable version of the William Tell Overture and the Flamenco party piece Malaguana. They will also be performing a parody of Killer Queen (will Camilla be queen?) and a song about what happens to your body as you get older in a hilarious take on ‘Windmills of your Mind’

Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel
Austentatious is an entirely improvised comedy play in the style of the wondrous & witty Jane Austen, based on nothing more than a title from the audience. In addition the talented Joseph Morpurgo will be opening the evening with a preview of his 2015 solo show. Anticipate the silly, the scary, and plenty of second-hand vinyl.  This promises to be a fabulous and hilarious night out.

Fairport Convention
Fairport Convention headlined the festival last year and were met with such a great audience and will be welcomed back again this year.

Ralph McTell, Jez Lowe and many more.
Ralph McTell will be headlining the main festival day. In addition there are a whole host of other great musicians including Jez Lowe, Gilded Thieves, Deborah Rose, Keegan Snaize, Grand Old Uke of York,  Zak Ford and Ralph McTell.

Last Night Of The Proms
The  talented violinist, Amy Fields, will be performing a range of works and the fantastic Shepherd Group Brass Band will be entertaining us with a varied program finishing with all the popular and rousing music you would expect at the Last Night of the Proms.
