Aviemore Folk Festival

5 – 9 December 2022

Following the enormous success of the first annual Aviemore Folk Festival in December 2021, we are delighted to be returning to the MacDonald resort once again in 2022 for the Aviemore Folk Festival.

Aviemore is a village situated in the Scottish Highlands, nestled in the far west corner of the Cairngorms National Park. A year-round resort, it is home to five of the UK’s six highest mountains, huge forests of ancient native trees, spectacular waterfalls and more wildlife than you can imagine. It is also home to the Cairngorm Brewery, producing both traditional and more contemporary craft ale.

We can’t promise sunshine, or snow for that matter, but we can promise an incredible line-up, a warm bed with en-suite bathroom, delicious food, optional day trips, whisky and gin tasting and a splendid Christmas Dinner! There will be indoor concerts, workshops, dancing, mulled wine, craft ale, bagpipes, reindeer visits, Christmas jumpers, secret Santa and even haggis.

Expect the same attention to detail and service that you already associate with a Costa del Folk Festival but with an extra sprinkling of magic. If you are thinking of a low-key sedate festival, forget it! Aviemore Folk Festival in December is full of amazing experiences, superb music, festive activities and, above all, fun and friendship.

The accommodation has an option to suit everyone. From the Morlich Hotel, which is right next door to the festival hub where the concerts will take place, to the quieter option of the Highlands Hotel or the Aviemore Hotel or the chance to share with friends and enjoy one of the luxury woodland lodges.

For anyone not wanting to make their own travel arrangements, we have put together an inclusive coach package, travelling from Exeter with pick-up points en-route, allowing you to extend your stay either side of the festival.

Take out the sun, the hotel, the sea and the food for a minute - Ibiza 2018 had the best line up of any festival I have attended. The quality of the music was outstanding, enhanced by the fact that they all loved being there.
    Jeff Morton
  • Carol Youlton
Most folk festivals are well organised and have lovely people helping. Costa del Folk raises that to a whole new level with wonderful people, care and attention from the first minute you book. The mix of known and unknown musicians and music is brilliant. It is a lovely happy party from start to finish. And in a nice hotel in the sunshine. Doesn't get any better.

My perfect holiday! Enjoyed every minute at Costa Ibiza 2018 and 2019 and I'll be there next year! Great music - old favourites and then the music you discover and love too! Great hotel, lovely rooms, great food (excellent for vegetarians too).

My favourite holiday. What's not to love. We've been to three now and so looking forward to the next one. Beautiful setting, great hotel, superbly run event with wonderful performers in a sunshine setting. What more could anyone want?
