The Shee

Cross-Border folk multi-instrumentalists and festival favourites, The Shee, met on the Folk and Traditional Music Degree course at Newcastle University in 2006. The Shee are an exceptional band boasting powerful and emotional vocal performances and instrumental prowess.

The band showcases the superb talents of six of the UKs finest musicians - harpist Rachel Newton (BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year 2017); Sting's clogger of choice Amy Thatcher on accordion; Scottish-Icelandic percussionist Signy Jakobsdottir;Lillias Kinsman-Blake, a touring musician and workshop leader from the Scottish Borders; Olivia Ross, singer, fiddle player, song-writer and violin instructor from the Highlands of Scotland and Laura-Beth Salter, a singer, mandolin player and composer from Lincolnshire who is now based in Glasgow.

Expect slow airs, Gaelic ballads, original songs, high energy tunes, hypnotic riffs, and, of course...clog dancing.
